Heartfelt Ponderings

Assimilate or Suffer

From the earliest days man has grouped with those that have similar characteristics and desires, i.e., skin color, beliefs about the his creation, area where he lived, etc. The Creator intended, however, that man should realize that all are one and all groups should meld together. In the founding of America the various groups came to America for religious freedom. Different nationalities remained separate in their own groups at first. But since their religions were similar, they soon commingled with other groups, and marriage between groups erased the dividing lines. This perhaps more than any other factor has made America great and strong.

Certain groups persistently remain separate to preserve their heritage, religion, or other characteristics. Jews, Muslims, American Indians, African Americans, among others, reject the Creator’s plan and remain in their separate groups.

If you look at the problems these groups have had throughout history, you will see a pattern of very difficult times. The Jews have been hated and persecuted throughout their existence. Muslims are forbidden by their Qur’an from even befriending other religions and have had a history of war and hate. American Indians have rejected the society of the white settlers of America and have lived in poverty. African Americans, when they were first brought to America were unjustly placed in servitude. White Americans have tried to remedy this but the African Americans choose to remain separate in their own society rather than accept the white American’s values.

If you analyze the history of these groups and other groups that have tried to remain separate, you can easily see that because of this desire, their groups have had to suffer great hardship. The reason for this is simple: the Creator desires us to accept each other as brothers and meld together into One. Groups that do not accept this will continue having major difficulties.
